YOUNG VOTERS TAKE THE REINS IN ELECTION '08

Issue-Based VoteGopher.com, Created By Harvard Undergrads, Revamped & Re-Launched

NEW YORK, NY - July 21, 2008- The 2008 presidential campaign has already made one thing clear - young voters aren't sitting this one out. A testament to this dynamic youth movement is VoteGopher.com: the ultimate election study guide. Focused on the issues and targeted at young voters, VoteGopher.com is back - re-launched, revamped, and with several new features to help voters make an informed choice this November.

Originally released in October 2007 for the presidential primaries, VoteGopher has already been praised as "unusually extensive" by Adam Nagourney, Chief Political Correspondent for The New York Times, and described as "more comprehensive and lively than anything I've seen out there" by Maralee Schwartz, former National Political Editor of The Washington Post. The site is also listed on The New York Times' political blogroll and on Politico.com's Campus Politico homepage.

VoteGopher.com 2.0 makes learning about the election easier than ever before. The new site features a series of 25 unique video breakdowns, giving voters a quick, easy-to-understand comparison of the candidates' positions on the issues. VoteGopher's blog - The Bloggopher - will cover the issues and the youth vote as the campaign progresses.

The new My Ballot feature makes the site even more interactive. According to founder Will Ruben, "My Ballot is a uniquely thorough and useful tool for deciding between the candidates." Integrated with VoteGopher's easy-to-read issue summaries, My Ballot lets users decide which candidate they prefer on 25 issues and designate which issues matter most to them. It then tallies the results and produces a personalized scorecard.

VoteGopher was founded in 2007 by Will Ruben, Harvard College Class of 2010. "The information is all out there," Ruben said. "But VoteGopher compiles, distills, and explains it in a way that makes it easier for voters to focus on the issues that matter most to them." He added, "I hope our peers across America will use VoteGopher to get informed and then get out and vote. Our generation needs to have a say in shaping the future of our country, and voting is the best way to tell our representatives that we care about the America we will inherit."

Together with roommate and COO Alex Lavoie, Ruben has expanded VoteGopher from a two-man operation to a full-time summer staff of his peers. His strictly non-partisan team researches news articles, debate transcripts, and official campaign materials before compiling unbiased and accessible information on 25 issues.

VoteGopher's accomplishments thus far prove that age is no limitation to the entrepreneurial spirit. With its revamped site, VoteGopher has positioned itself to have a substantial impact on the way voters cast their ballots this November.
